Home About Us Scouting Programs Venturing/Sea Scouts
Venturing and Sea Scouting PDF Print E-mail

Venturing like Sea Scouting and Order of the Arrow is a great program for older youth.  Of course, Venturing and Sea Scouting are co-ed.  The age to join Venturing and Sea Scouting is 14, or 13 and completed the eighth grade.  The upper age is less than 21 years old.

Many often overlook the senior scouting programs (Venturing and Sea Scouting) believing that Boy Scouts is the last scouting program.  The senior scouting programs can open a whole new world of excitement, leadership and recognition.  What plays a big part in this is the fact that our young adults can do peer related activities.

Venturing Crews are commonly much smaller than a Boy Scout Troop so they have a greater opportunity to plan activities anyplace in the USA and even in other countries.  The planning involves budgeting, researching and leadership which are all experiences that makes for a great foundation in life skills.  What Venturers find is that all of this is fun and along the way, they can earn additional recognition.  In Venturing, the recognition includes the Silver Award, Ranger, Quest and Trust.  In Sea Scouting, the recognition is the Quartermaster Award which is extremely prestigious.
