Holcomb Valley Scout Camp is located on a high country meadow and surrounded by tree covered hills and mountains. Somewhere between the crisp air of a mountain meadow and the brilliance of a setting sun lies Holcomb Valley Scout Camp.
Located in the San Bernardino Mountains, at approximately 7500', this pristine camp is like a step back in time. Holcomb Valley Scout Camp , may seem fairly remote but is just a few short miles from Big Bear Lake. It is rich in local history, and has been used in numerous television and movie productions. At the turn of the century, it was still a working cattle ranch and some of the original buildings are still standing, including the ranch house and barn.
Picture yourself on a crisp morning, preparing for your day. Scouts and anyone who loves the outdoors, enjoys star-filled night skies will love this camp! You will be surrounded with people who share the same love of nature that you do. Family weekends are always a treat. You can book a weekend for you group, pack or troop and just do your own thing.

In order for the San Gabriel Valley Council to run a quality and cost-effective weekend at Holcomb Valley Camp, a minimum of 50 participants is required. However, if this minimum goal is not attained, the Council will unfortunately cancel the weekend and provide a refund.
All non Scout groups are required to provide the San Gabriel Valley Council with a certificate of liability insurance as part of the process in securing a reservation. Please fax this information as soon as possible to Sonia Guerrero Kagan at (626) 351-9149. All certificates must be received prior to your group arriving at camp. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter and complying with the Council’s policy.
The following will be needed to book the camp:
- A certificate of liability insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000 CSL (combined single limit including contractual liability coverage) with the San Gabriel Valley Council, Boy Scouts, and Boy Scouts of America, named as additional insured, thirty (30) day written notice of cancellation, waiver of subrogation and the period of time involved.
- A hold harmless agreement.
- A certificate showing non-profit and or tax exempt status (if applicable).
- A roster showing the names of all youth and adults participating in this activity.
